08/03/2004 - It suddenly occurs to me that I never posted a report on how the largest mP East production went off! The Local Flair Street Fair was hella cool. It was hot. But there was a beer garden. There weren't thousands in the crowd, but the bands still kicked ass, and the event was free. Personally, I had fun hanging out with musicians all day and partying worry-free in the street downtown.

morrispost Productions would like to thank the following for their mega contributions/participation:

The Longnecks
The Agitators
Jupiter Effect
The Duckets
United Effect
Catalyst
The Side Project
Raggs And Bushdoktor
Ctrl Z
Carlos Alden
The Matthew Lindley Mistake
Mercy Lewis
Mad Mamma Moon
Matt Kelly
Andrew Enz
Bjorn
Bob Levan
Mary Morton
Bill Nieman
SOMA
Dan Schmedding
Northern Lights Brewery
Everyone who came out.

If I forgot anyone, I didn't mean it!

Feel free to contact us for your event / booking / musical / whimsical needs.

And I can't help but give LJ McAllister props again. pedaldiary.com is undeniably phat and I implore you to check out the Pedal Diary Art Show.

06/28/2004 - It's been a long time, I shouldnt've left you, without a dope beat.

I'm currently serving a one day sentence (from work). Incidentally, Ctrl Z guitar Char got the same sentence on the same day. I'll leave it at that. And know this, we will rock on.

Consequently, I'm at home all day. So I'm taking the opportunity to bring you some news.

Ctrl Z's next gig will be the PEACH Local Flair Street Fair, on July 17th (and will NOT be discussed via inter-office email). Sponsored by PEACH, this exciting community gathering will feature all local artisans, musicians, wineries, literary figures and more! There will be delicious organic snacks and prepared food vendors, local businesses presenting their work, local musicians sharing their talent, and some of the highest quality local arts and crafts around.

The celebration will be held on July 16th from 5p to 10p and July 17th from 10a to 10p in the Davenport Arts District on the 1000 block of W. 1st. Vendors and musicians will set up in the walking alley behind PEACH Safe Foods and along Madison Street between 1st and 2nd. Come enjoy our local merchants, artists of all mediums, and the sounds of local bands Ctrl Z, Jupiter Effect, Mercy Lewis, Matt Kelly and more.

morrispost Productions wants to help "bring together the many diverse resources we have here in Spokane and to remind everyone there is much to admire and support in our local community." So we've helped book the bands and hope you will come out to support the community and enjoy yourself. Yes, there will be BEER there.

Also looming on the Ctrl Z front is the actuality of the first Ctrl Z full-length album. By the end of the summer, you should have one of these in your collection. Stay tuned.

Did I tell you that I recently went on the road with Spokane's most excellent rock band Mang? Portland - Seattle video coming soon.

Oh yeah. And mP is currently accepting both donations to our music equipment fund AND submissions from new artists wishing to be featured. Thanks and have a great day.

03/15/2004 - Mang cd release @ The B Side 3/13

Congrats to one of our favorite bands, Mang. Last night at the B Side they released their awaited 2nd album, putting on a killer show for the Mang Mafia. 'La Cosa Nostra' contains 11 tracks of new tunes, as well as some of the cuts we already know and love ('Mangled' 02). It kicks ass and they kick ass, and I was stoked, personally. Enough said. Thanks Mang. www.heymang.com

Ms. Led With a decidedly feminist message, Lesli Wood (aka Roxy) produces lyrics that are a fearless examination of social issues, personal vulnerability, and empowerment. Along with bassist, Matt Menovcik (aka Clark), guitarist Peg Wood (aka Violet) and drummer, Steph Hasselman (aka Bootsy), Ms. Led have become recognized not only for their political edge, but also for their catchy, at times even danceable, songs and their infectious energy and raw emotion.
